Post Surgery (Day 1)1 min read

Today has been a pretty good day. The early part of the day and the end of the day were probably the most difficult. Some pain for sure. However, Nataleigh had two physical therapy sessions where she had to stay sitting upright for a minimum of 45 minutes and we made two long walks on the hospital floor.

It is sort of interesting that the majority of the day she complained of the areas which were rubbed raw during surgery and not her back. However, after her last walk she had about an hour and a half of heavy pain. Finally, she received a dose of morphine which helped calm things down.

After her medicine, Nataleigh ate two bannanna popsicles and drank some Gatorade. I hated seeing her in pain, but the nurses did a great job of controlling it.

Finally, we think we figured out most of the discomfort was muscle spasms. So, she had a dose of valium administered. After about another hour and a couple of repositionings she finally dosed off at 11:50. It was a long, but good day!
